There is one thing that you can try only in Santa Clara del Cobre, and that is the eccentric “tortas de tostadas” (toasted tortilla sandwiches) in the main square. Other exquisite delicacies that you should taste are the rabbit and lamb, which have been carefully raised especially for their consumption. For more demanding palates, there is the “sopa tarasca” (Michoacan-style soup) or Michoacan-style battered fish, stuffed lamb or typical regional “carnitas”.
