We went to Comala because they told us that it's nicknamed 'The White Village of America' and I can tell you that they're right: the traditional red roofs and high white facades shine brilliantly. The town is also well known due to the fact that author Juan Rulfo used its name in his famous novella Pedro Paramo. Comala means 'place where comales are made' (comales being the flat grills for toasting tortillas) and it's a must for those visiting the Volcan de Fuego ('The Fire Volcano') or the city of Colima.

On this trip we set out to explore Guerrero's only Magical Town. We were first attracted by its traditional silversmithing, although we knew that it offered much more than just that: Taxco was one of the Spanish Viceroyalty's most prosperous mining cities and so conserves interesting architectural jewels; its narrow cobbled streets were witness to many notable personalities such as explorer Alexander Von Humboldt, dramatist Juan Ruiz de Alarcon, and collector William Spratling.

Mazamitla is a Jaliscan town enclosed in the forested Sierra del Tigre; it's ideal for ecotourism and freely satisfying each and every last one of your stomach's whims while breathing in the pine-scented fresh air. The town's cool climate stimulates the senses and provokes sweet temptations, contented by the unbeatable traditional Mazamitla-style jellies and jams.

Just the name of the town made us want to go there: located at the foot of the Western Sierra Madre in West Jalisco, San Sebastian del Oeste ('Saint Sebastian of the West) made us dream about the wild west and its cowboys. In reality, this Magical Town was an important mining city with over 20,000 residents, a number that is currently reduced to just 600. San Sebastian del Oeste preserves the memories of good times pasts, the charms of tranquility, and many natural destinations for the curious adventurer.
