Malinalco, State of Mexico

As soon as we got to this Magical Town we were captivated by its diversity in plants: we saw white sapote, guava trees, and plum trees growing alongside ferns, jacarandas, and nopales. More than one garden surprised us with a veritable explosion of orchids. Malinalco won us over with the depth and breadth of its pre-Hispanic and colonial past, with its colorful markets, cobbled streets, neighborhood chapels, and small and charming hotels.

How to Get There

Malinalco, State of Mexico

From Mexico City take the Mexico–Toluca Highway, exiting at La Marquesa towards Tianguistenco and later towards Tenango. Passing Tenango, take a left towards Joquicingo and follow the signs to Malinalco. Distance chart: To Mexico City – 98 km; To Toluca – 65 km; To Cuernavaca – 59 km
