Cuetzalan, Puebla

Indigenous men and woman flaunt their traditional dress, as white as the mist that sometimes descends into town; some carry goods on their back that they'll sell during the day, but all walk with the pride of their ancestral legacy. Cuetzalan is a town where the past lives on, a place where streets rise and fall suddenly: for me, a lover of chaos, they are delightful to travel.

How to Get There

Cuetzalan, Puebla

From Mexico City take Highway 150 Mexico-Puebla towards Orizaba. Upon arriving to the Amozoc booth, take the exit to Cuetzalan (State Highway 129) and then later the highway towards Teziutlan. After passing the first stand you'll see the exit to Zaragoza, continue towards Puebla, and later you'll find the exit to Zacapoaxtla and Cuetzalan. Be careful because the road signs aren't great. Distance chart: To Mexico City – 289 km; To Puebla – 173 km; To Tlaxcala – 176 km
