In addition to its beaches and bays, there is a wide variety of theme parks in the Riviera, among which, one of the most popular is Aquaventuras. The place has green areas, slides, shows featuring dolphins and sea lions, as well as special programs where visitors are able to interact with them. Besides swimming with dolphins, you can go snorkeling and even practice aquatic aerobics and other stunts with them. With something for each member of the family, this park offers nine slides, as well as a large swimming pool, 10 river slides, a restaurant and snack bars, in addition to six hectares including other talented animals and exotic birds.
Another place to live adventures is the Island of Mexcaltitan, to the northwest of Santiago Ixcuintla, where tours in boat are performed to enjoy the island that some historians consider the ancient Aztlan, departure point of the Mexica people who founded Tenochtitlan in the center of the country.
To watch exotic and unique animals such as jaguars, or crocodiles, living among mangroves and swamps, there is no place better than the foot of the volcano La Tovara, in the reserve of the same name. It is located in the kilometer two of the highway between San Blas and the Bay of Matanchen and it can only be accessed in a motor-less boat, respecting its nature of protected natural area.
