Spring

The change in the weather, the lively singing of the birds and the landscapes tinted with the multiple colors of the flowers are sufficient reason to explore all the hidden corners of Mexico. In this section we introduce you to thirteen Magical Towns; their geography and festivals are good excuses for visiting them during this time of the year.

Enjoy the cenotes around Izamal and the Bacalar lagoon with its seven colors. Don’t miss the Coffee Festival in Coatepec, nor the spring equinox in Bernal or Tepoztlán. The desert hills of Real de Catorce and the fields of Creel look even more beautiful during this season, and it’s the perfect time of year to admire translucent pools of Cuatrociénegas.

In the springtime Comala smells of the blooms of the orange trees and Pahuatlán tastes like coffee ande pre-Hispanic disches. Jerez dedicates one of his festivals to the spring, and other towns, like Tlayacapan, open the season with a pleasant hangover from Carnival.

The morning fog invites you to wander the streets of San Cristóbal de las Casas, while the Oxolotán and Amatlán rivers of Tapijulapa share the best sardines of the year with us.

Izamal

Yucatán

Sacred ?Itzamal?, a name by which it has been known since pre-Columbian times, has magic to spare.

Pahuatlán

Puebla

Mix Nahuatl and Otomi, this artisan's Magic Town of Puebla was blessed with ideal weather for harvest.

San Cristóbal de las Casas

Visit the magical town of Chiapas, with unique architectural heritage and craftsmanship which make it essential.

Tepoztlán

Morelos

This site protected by Tepozteco Hill, is a land of mysticism, crafts and perfect climate.

Cuatrociénegas

Coahuila

Cuatrociénagas, a colonial village located in Coahuila, is surrounded by one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world.

Creel

Chihuahua

Creel - also known as Creel Station because it was a major railroad stop - is in the heart of the Western Sierra Madre.

Jerez de García Salinas

Zacatecas

Its bustling streets, traditional homes, storefronts, plazas, and churches make passing a weekend here a true delight.

Real de Catorce

San Luis Potosí

In the days of yore there was a town made of stone that was brimming with silver and able to build a then-unimaginable tunnel as a symbol of its power.

Tapijulapa

Tabasco

As with many Tabascan towns, Tapijulapa lies between majestic rivers: Tapijulapa's are the Oxolotan, and the Amatan.

Tlayacapan

Morelos

Land of crafts and party, so is this place of Morelos, home of Mexico's oldest band.
