Located in close proximity to Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende is a delightful colonial city in the state of Guanajuato. Its cobblestone streets, romantic plazas and street musicians attracts visitors into the town's rich cultural life. In San Miguel de Allende you can find a spring weather all year round and lots of theaters, art schools, cooking classes, writing workshops, libraries and museums. Unlike many small towns in Mexico, many people speak English due to a large resident community of Americans and Canadians.
A number of exceptional venues for meetings and events can be found in this town; The Senderos, a 208-acre facility 1.8 miles from downtown San Miguel de Allende, offers outdoor and indoor event and meeting spaces for 240 to 1,750 guests complete with catering services. Fifteen minutes from the center of town is the Hacienda Puerto de Nieto, with 16 colonial guestrooms and two cabins. The closest airport is Guanajuato International Airport, and it’s and hour and a half drive from San Miguel de Allende with direct flights to Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. The Queretaro International Airport is closer and receives Continental and Aeromexico flights. Shuttle transportations can be arranged from the airport to San Miguel Allende.
