Puerto Vallarta

Located in the Pacific Coast in the state of Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta’s beauty comes from its colonial architecture, wide beaches, and the spectacular, half-circle Banderas Bay surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains. The Malecon or sea side boardwalk, is a very popular spot in Puerto Vallarta. There you can find national and international artisans who exhibit their work under swaying palms. Across the street, bars and restaurants offer cocktails and striking views of the ocean.

Puerto Vallarta´s biodiversity in the bay and the surrounding hills makes it a great ecotourism destination, with activities such as: bird watching tours in the tropical forest, snorkeling and scuba diving excursions, and humpback whale watching trips during the April migration. Tucked within Puerto Vallarta’s exuberant vegetation is a wide world of luxury hotels, spas, and championship golf courses, such as the Vista Vallarta Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus and host of the 2002 PGA World Cup.

Puerto Vallarta’s natural beauty and infrastructure make it an ideal place for meetings. The Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center is the largest convention center in town, which can hold 7,000 people and is located just 10 minutes from the airport. Already, it has played host to events such as the United Nations World Tourism Organization (WTO) Parliamentary Forum and the National Congress of Gastric Endoscopy and the World Economic Forum on Latin America in 2012. Puerto Vallarta has more than 120 hotels and 18,000 rooms and is well equipped to host large groups of people. The Westin Resort and Spa Puerto Vallarta is one of the great event sites, with 280 ocean-view rooms, 12 event halls holding up to 900 people and gardens and pool areas that can accommodate 1,000 people.

Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport is 4.6 miles from the city, with direct flights to Mexican hubs, such as Monterrey, Tijuana and Mexico City, as well as international flights to 20 cities in the U.S. and Canada, including Atlanta, Las Vegas, Montreal and Vancouver.
