The Mexico Taxi Project campaign is trying to influence in a positive way the perception that Americans have about Mexico; its goal is to spark their interest in visiting Mexico, to explore its destinations and to live a unique experience.
For many Americans and Canadians, Mexico is a way to escape the routine, the ideal place to take a break along nature, to submerge in a fascinating culture or to spend days full of fun. This project’s purpose is to reinforce the image of the Mexican paradise; that place where “there is nothing to worry about, except to have good time”.
The idea is to share the experiences of real people, that is, of travelers that have spent time in Mexico and wish to share their testimonies. They are tourists speaking to tourists; people that enjoyed their Mexican vacation so much that they share their positive experience even in a taxi cab.
The testimonies that make up this campaign are real and were told by tourists without the knowledge that they were being documented. This spontaneity is highlighted mainly on the project “Taxi Cab Confessions”, an original way to get to know, and to share, the opinion of foreign tourists regarding this country.
Aboard a taxi, the driver asks the passengers, American tourists just returning from their vacations in Mexico, what they thought about their trip. The travelers then answer in a spontaneous way, without bias.
The campaign also includes amazing prints on magazines, made up of attractive images and brief testimonies, and interactive billboards that show the back side of a postcard sent from a Mexican tourist destination.
