La Paz, Mexico, is a port city famous for its tourist trade and an ideal spot for rest and relaxation. Where is La Paz? The capital city of the state of Baja California Sur, La Paz is located at the southern end of the Baja California Peninsula.

The climate of La Paz is dry, warm, and sunny with breezes from the Bay of La Paz keeping the temperature mild. During the summer, the cooling Coromuel winds, a weather phenomenon unique to the La Paz area, blow during the night from the Pacific over the peninsula and into the bay.

This multifaceted destination is a cutting-edge source of entertainment for visitors wanting sun and sand, natural wonders, world-class sports facilities, and succulent cuisine. La Paz accommodations range from upscale hotels to bed and breakfasts to camping sites to a number of La Paz hostels.

A stroll along the malecon, the seafront promenade, reveals a way of life governed by the ever-present sun and sea. In the morning, active residents are seen jogging or walking before starting the day’s activities, and once the sun goes down, the streets take on a life of their own as everyone steps out to enjoy the ocean breeze.

A wide variety of species inhabit the coast, making the Sea of Cortez one of the country’s most important concentrations of marine biodiversity. Its turquoise water teems with coral reefs, mollusks, and tropical fish.
