Mayan Riviera museums and cultural centers are plentiful. Revealing important facts about the region’s historical legacy and Mexican traditions, these exhibits have become important places for visitors, many of whom come here specifically for this reason.

The Xel-Ha Archeological Museum has one of the largest pre-Hispanic and cultural collections in the Mexican Caribbean. Visitors to the museum gaze in wonder at the many objects from the Mayan culture, which represent an important piece of history and contribute to local traditions.

Cozumel island’s Marine-Archeological Museum has both historic and contemporary exhibits, including relics from the Mayan civilization found on the island and in surrounding areas.

There are also numerous exhibits on the flora and fauna found along the coral reefs that have helped position the Mayan Riviera as one of Mexico’s top tourist destinations.
