Architecture in San Miguel de Allende provides several architectural gems, including houses, libraries, governmental palaces, restaurants, and hotels. However, colonial churches featuring Neoclassical and Neo-Gothic details stand out.

San Miguel Parish Church is the largest and most famous example of San Miguel de Allende architecture. It is located on the main plaza and is the most iconic building in the city. It was built in the eighteenth century, and its style is eclectic, combining its Neo-Gothic, pink stone façade with Neoclassical details in its interior.

The Templo de la Concepción church is another example. It is a Neoclassical-style building, from the eighteenth century, with a dome inspired by Les Invalides church in Paris. Inside, there is an art collection by the artist Juan Rodríguez Juárez.

Other buildings that deserve a visit include the Church of Our Lady of Good Health, situated on Mesones Street, to the side of Ignacio Allende plaza. It dates from the end of the eighteenth century. Inside, it holds oil paintings by renowned artists of the time. Its splayed front is one of a total of six existing in the country. In addition, the tower has the oldest bell in the city.
